At Tranquil Retreat, Manneguda, the landscape design by VR Design Studio is a seamless extension of architecture, ecology, and emotional experience. It reflects a commitment to immersive, context-sensitive, and sustainable design—where landscape is not ornamental, but fundamental. By integrating planting as an experiential layer, the design invites calm, connection, and climate-conscious living. The walls, finished in a soft, textured white plaster, enhance the space’s serene Mediterranean character. Carefully placed artistic blue ceramic plates and witty signage like “Be strong, I whisper to my coffee…” inject personality and a touch of humor.
Native, Resilient Palette
The plant selection favours native and site-adaptive species suited to Telangana’s semi-arid climate—reducing water use and minimizing maintenance.
Layered and Textural Composition
Plants are arranged in naturalistic tiers—groundcovers, shrubs, and canopy trees—to create rhythm, privacy, and seasonal variation.
Functional & Sensory Species
From medicinal herbs to edible and aromatic plants, specific zones encourage tactile, olfactory, and culinary engagement with the landscape.
Courtyard Planting
Lush greenery is placed in semi-open courtyards to enhance passive cooling, and bring light, scent, and softness into living spaces.
Forest Edge Blending
The landscape transitions naturally into the surrounding forest, with plant density and species shifting to mimic and merge with woodland ecology.
Balanced Hardscape & Softscape
Pathways, stone beds, and water features are sensitively woven through planting zones—creating circulation that feels organic and unobtrusive.
